STD Testing

Sexually transmitted diseases (STD), also commonly referred to as sexually transmitted infections (STI), are common and spread from person to person through vaginal, oral and anal sex.  While sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) affect individuals of all ages, STDs take a particularly heavy toll on young people. CDC estimates that youth ages 15-24 account for almost half of the 26 million new sexually transmitted infections that occurred in the United States in 2018.  The CDC also estimates 1 in 5 people in the United States has a STD.

Some STDs can be passed from a pregnant person to their baby, either during pregnancy or when giving birth. Other ways that STDs may be spread include during breastfeeding, through blood transfusions, or by sharing needles.

Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STI) is available through our agency’s Reproductive Health and Wellness Program.  Testing is available for both men and women on Tuesdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm.  Appointments are preferred but walk-ins are accepted as our schedule allows during our Tuesday clinic.

STD testing available at our agency includes:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Herpes
  • HIV
  • HPV
  • Syphilis
  • Trichomoniasis

STD testing is provided through our agency’s Reproductive Health and Wellness Program, a Title X program of the Ohio Department of Health.  Services are confidential.  Insurance is accepted.  Fees for uninsured individuals are based on a sliding fee scale.  No one is denied services for inability to pay.
