The board of health is the governing body for the combined health district under Ohio law. the board has the authority to hire staff, develop programs and is required to enforce specific sections of the Ohio Revised Code and Rules of the Ohio Public Health Council. The board may make such orders as necessary for it’s own government; for public health; the prevention or restriction of disease and the prevention, abatement or suppression of nuisances.
The board of health meetings are held once a month, while special meetings are scheduled as necessary. The usual meeting date is the third Wednesday each month at 5:30 p.m. These meetings are open to the public.
